Favorite Resources

Happy Sunday, PBFs. I pray your weekend was all you wanted it to be and that you are ready for the upcoming week. Today’s From Thy Bounty message is about an experience I had this week.

I’ve mentioned this magazine and how much I love it before. Well, I was at the physical therapist this week waiting to be called in and I saw this issue. And I was thinking, somewhat in a mild panic, “I don’t have this copy?! Why don’t I have this copy?! Did I ignore the renew notice too long?

The assistant called me in almost immediately and I took the magazine with me because I wanted to continue looking at the recipes during my treatment—this issue had a lot of vegan options too. The PT saw me and said, “I see you brought something to read.”

“Ummm yes. I brought it from the waiting room. This is yours.” He laughed. Truth be told, I wanted to ask if I could have it, but I didn’t. Anyway, I flipped during my heat therapy committing to pick up a copy on the way back to the office and nowhere to be found. Like nowhere. Is the lack of newsstands a pandemic casualty? I mean this was Wall Street area and downtown brooklyn.

Yesterday, I finally checked my mailbox and there it was. Now I can look more closely at the bbq cauliflower bites, the kim chi fries, etc. and share with you.

While this is not a “vegan” magazine, it reminds me that we can draw inspiration from so many places and now including vegan options are becoming commonplace. And this has helped make transitioning that much easier.

This may be a small incident, maybe even a silly example, but a reminder nonetheless of the grace in the form of multiple resources to support us on this adventure. Amen?

So, PBFs, what are some of your favorite resources—magazines, websites, organizations, etc.—that inspire you in plant-based eating? Drop them in the comments
